Wedgewood Senior Project Manager Earns Southern States Communication Association Award
The SSCA conference receives hundreds of papers each year and selects a top paper in each division. The Language and Social Interaction Division invited submissions of competitive papers and panel proposals that investigate the use of speech, language, or gestures in human interaction. Patrick's paper involved both ethnographic research and content analysis to research interpersonal and mass communication in an applied setting.
SSCA recognized Patrick's efforts during the association's annual convention in Louisville, KY, on March 31. "It was a pleasure to present at the conference and an added delight to receive the award. Wedgewood continues to grow its internal research capacity and I'm thrilled to be part of this growing capability of our firm," said Patrick.Patrick was also a finalist for the prestigious Robert Bostrom Young Scholar Award, which is given annually to the author of the top paper at the SSCA conference. The Bostrom Award honors the most outstanding paper submitted to the convention each year by a graduate student.
Patrick's accomplishment is not only indicative of his academic efforts; it also speaks to Wedgewood’s broader commitment to developing team members and serving current and future clients. Building on his professional experience and prior studies, Patrick’s completion of this PhD program will contribute to Wedgewood's solution offerings by increasing our research capacity, adding to our statistical analysis capabilities, and providing clients yet another resource to help them tackle their most critical organizational issues.
